I work as a Registered Nurse in Health Informatics in a large regional health authority. I support one of the electronic acute care information systems for 12 acute care sites in the role of a Clinical Information Specialist. I collaborate and consult with staff and stakeholders to support electronic health care documentation, quality improvement measures and standardizations processes. I apply my clinical knowledge to facilitate, develop, coordinate, support, implement, and evaluate regional information management/information system standards, processes, and procedures related to acute care.
I also have over ten years of experience in public health, disease prevention, health promotion, community electronic information systems and education. Both as a front line Public Health Nurse and a Clinical Information Specialist. Here I developed countless informatics skills by working on provincial and interdisciplinary working groups and developing and leading many staff education sessions.
